NEET PG 2021: The Directorate General of Health Services has written a letter to the National Board of Examination (NBE) regarding NEET-PG 2021. Through this letter, a demand has been made to reduce the cutoff by 15 percent for all categories and a demand has been made to issue a revised cutoff.
According to health ministry officials, the decision was taken in consultation with the National Medical Commission (NMC) in view of about 8,000 seats remaining vacant even after two rounds of quota counseling in the state. If this decision is taken by the National Board of Examination, then 35 percentile cutoff for general category and 30 percentile cutoff for reserved category candidates can be reduced. Whereas (for SC/ST/OBC) it may be 25 percentile.
According to an official, “The move is aimed at preventing wastage of seats. With this reduction in percentile, around 25,000 fresh candidates can take part in the mop round of the ongoing counselling.”
