On Saturday, in the presence of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, both these agreements were signed to strengthen the agriculture and rural economy in the state in a program organized at his residence office in Raipur. According to the information given by the state government, the first food irradiator plant will be established in the government sector in Chhattisgarh to keep food grains, vegetables and minor forest produce safe, fresh and quality for a long time. This MoU has been signed between the Seed Corporation of Chhattisgarh government and the Radiation Board and Isotope Technology working under the Department of Atomic Energy, regarding the operation and technology transfer of the Food Irradiator Plant.

Plants will be set up to make electricity from cow dung

The second MoU has been signed with Bhabha Atomic Research Center. According to this, the research center will give technical guidance to the state of Chhattisgarh to generate electricity from cow dung in Gauthans. At the same time, cow dung based power plants will be set up in Gauthan. For this, an MoU has been signed between Chhattisgarh Bio Fuel Development Authority (CBDA) and Bhabha Atomic Research Center (BARC).

The electricity generated from cow dung in Gauthans will be used for power-operated machines, drinking water, irrigation, lighting and other works of the Ruler Industrial Park operating there. With this the excess power can be sold to the electricity distribution company.

On this occasion Agriculture Minister Ravindra Choubey, Advisor to Chief Minister Pradeep Sharma, Vice Chancellor of Indira Gandhi Agricultural University Dr. Girish Chandel, Agriculture Production Commissioner Dr. Kamalpreet Singh, Agriculture Secretary Dr. S Bharathidasan, Secretary Energy Ankit Anand and other senior administrative officers, Bhabha Atomic Research Representative officials from the Center and Board of Radiation and Isotope Technology were present in the program.
