Prabhas’s Early Life, Family and Career
Uppalapati Venkata Suryanarayana Prabhas Raju is an Indian actor who majorly works in Telugu cinema. However, he is just known as Prabhas. Born 23 October 1979 (Present Age: 42 years old) in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, Prabhas is one of the highest-paid actors of Indian cinema. His father was a film producer Uppalapati Surya Narayana Raju and mother, Siva Kumari is a home maker. Prabhas is the youngest of the three children of his parents. He has an elder brother, Prabodh and a sister, Pragathi. Prabhas completed his school education from Nalanda College, Hyderabad. Later, he joined Satyanand Film Institute in Visakhapatnam.
In 2002, Prabhas debuted in the Telugu film industry. His first film was Eeswar. Prabhas played the lead role of Eeswar who is a motherless child and brat living in slum area. In the subsequent years, Prabhas was a part of Raghavendra, Varsham, Adavi Ramadu, Chakram, Pournami, Yogi and Munna.
In the year 2015, things changed for good for Prabhas. He appeared as Amarendra Baahubali in S.S Rajmouli’s epic action-drama film Baahubali: The Beginning. Consequently, he increased his weight to 105kgs for playing his character. In its sequel, Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (2017), Prabhas reprised his role as Amarendra Baahuali. It became the first Indian film ever to gross over ₹1,000 crore in just ten days.

Prabhas is the only actor from south film industry to feature in the magazine Eastern Eye‘s 2019 listing. The list was about the 10 Sexiest Asian Men. Also, he got featured in the GQ in their listing of the most influential young Indians of 2017.
In the year 2021, he has been named the ‘Most Handsome Asian Male’ in the annual list of Fancy Odds. He is the first-ever South Indian actor whose statue is made in Madame Tussauds Museum Bangkok. The statue is made of wax and was in honor of his great performance in the film Baahubali.
