Unsolved Mysteries is a Netflix documentary based on real-life mysteries. It features unexplained paranormal phenomena, unresolved mysteries, murders, and conspiracy theories. Since its debut on Netflix in 2020, it has been on the top 10 list. Soon after, In October, Netflix dropped another batch of episodes as a part of Unsolved Mysteries Volume 2. The purpose of the show is to offer hope to the cases that have been left unresolved. The team reinvestigates cold cases that have been left in between.
Terry Dunn Meurer, the Executive Producer of the show, said that he is absolutely thrilled with the response towards the show. He added that the team ‘would be happier if they could have solved the majority of cases within the show. But they still have scope. The millions of netizens that are now watching the Unsolved Mysteries are concerned citizens who can help in dictating right or wrong. In Volume 1, the viewer’s tips helped gain developments and solve a number of mysteries.

Is there going to be Volume 3?
Given the popularity of Unsolved Mysteries, it would be a bummer if there wouldn’t be more Volumes in the pipeline. However, Netflix has not announced anything about the release of more episodes. In an interview, Terry Dunn Meurer has said ‘We have thought about it. We have ideas. We have some really great stories that we feel are strong stories’

While crime-mystery fans await for Volume 3 to release, they shouldn’t expect it to come any time soon. Probably, it is going to hit the screen in 2022. The next volume is also expected to have 6 episodes. Like other shows, the production of Unsolved Mysteries also suffered time- lag due to the Covid-19 situation. Due to the pandemic, it had to undergo multiple cancellations and delays.
The Unsolved Mysteries Podcast
In February of 2021, the creators of the show launched the series ‘Unsolved Mysteries‘ in the audio space. As they released the Unsolved Mysteries podcast on 17th February 2021, with new episodes coming every Wednesday. The podcast has been launched in partnership with Cadence13, the Podcast distribution company.

Unsolved Mysteries has been the longest-running successful mystery show on Television. The show aired on different channels with different hosts from 1987 to 2010. It also exploded on the OTT giant Netflix. This show is one of a kind and calls for action from the viewers. However, there are still hundreds of episodes that have not been released on any OTT platform. They won’t be coming anytime soon but it can help solve some unsolvable mysteries.
