Scam 1992 is Sony LIV was released on 9 th October 2020. It is a web series with 10 episodes and one season. The series is based on Chronicle Mehta who was known as the ‘ Amitabh Bachchan of Stock Market ‘. It is based on his life and the struggle he faced. It has become the favorite series of everyone soon after its release because of its plotline and interest. The whole series follows the real story of Harshad Mehta. This web series is based on journalist Debashis Basu and Sucheta Dalal’s book titled “The Scam Who Won, who Lost, who Got Away”. The series has been directed by acclaimed filmmaker ‘Hansal Mehta’.
Release Date
The first season was premiered on October 9 2020 on the Sony Liv app. The teaser was released on September 27, 2020, and the whole social media were filled with the status and memes of the series. The viewer is so happy with the first season that they can’t wait for season 2 anymore. Although the official date or trailer has not been announced. But season 2 of Scam 1992 is expected to be out in 2022.

The plot of Scam 1992
The web series is based on the 1992 Indian Market Scam 1992. Based on Harshad Mehta and many stockholders. Harshad was an ordinary Gujarati Salesman who lived in a cramped one-room apartment in Mumbai Gujarati dominated suburb of Ghatkopar. There are over 10 episodes in season 1 . Following the story of Harshad Mehta, a stockbroker who took the stock market by dizzying heights. The screenplay and dialogues were written by Sumit Purohit, Saurabh Dey, Vaibhav Vishal and Karan Vyas. It is a Indian Hindi language financial thriller,crime and drama series directed by Hansal Mehta . The main protagonist was unsatisfied with his job and start his own consulting firm. Exploiting loopholes in the market system.
He bribes higher officials and soon amasses huge amount of wealth. Set in the 1980’s and 90’s Bombay. The series follow how Harshad Mehta because of his business mind makes it big in stock market. He faces loss , struggles but always bounce back to problems. The story reaches the reporter Sucheta Dalal and later she publishes as the Scam the world. Scam 1992 has gained popularity and managed to create an influence and taught people about the share market. One of the popular dialogue of the series is ” Jeb Me Money Hona Yoho Kundli Me Shani Hone Se Koi Farak Nahi Padta, Risk Hai Toh Ishq Hai”.
