12th Fail Box Office Collection Day 4

Industry tracker Sacnilk reported that on Monday, the film brought its four-day total to Rs 7.84 crore after earning an additional Rs 1.20 crore.

Despite a slight dip in numbers, “12th Fail” has emerged as a surprising success. It managed to maintain a 10.04 percent occupancy rate in the Hindi market, with night shows drawing a significant audience. Interestingly, the film found a more enthusiastic reception in metropolises as opposed to smaller towns. In comparison, Kangana Ranaut‘s “Tejas” failed to connect with the masses, accumulating only Rs 4.25 crore over four days, with Monday contributing a mere Rs 50 lakh.

Actor-director Farhan Akhtar, who is known for his discerning taste in cinema, took to social media to applaud “12th Fail.” He expressed how he was “blown away” by the film and congratulated Vikrant Massey and the entire cast and crew. He encouraged his followers to watch the movie.

12th Fail Plot

“12th Fail” draws its inspiration from the best-selling novel of the same name by Anurag Pathak. The film sheds light on the challenges faced by millions of students who attempt the UPSC entrance exam. The protagonist, Manoj (played by Vikrant Massey), fails his 12th board exams but refuses to give up. He embarks on a journey to restart his academic pursuits and appears for one of India’s toughest competitive exams- UPSC.

Film experts and general moviegoers alike have found common ground in the film’s frank portrayal of life’s hardships and likable characters. The Indian Express film critic Shubhra Gupta gave the film a strong three stars, highlighting its resemblance to real life. She mentioned in her review, “Despite the background music and the occasional mood spikes, ’12th Fail’ stays, for the most part, a film that cleaves close to ground reality. With characters that make you feel that they’ve wandered off the street.”

“It’s not just about the main cast. It’s about the countless young souls who converge in bustling hubs of learning. Like the vibrant Mukerjee Nagar in North Delhi. These students, in pursuit of dreams that beckon from a distance, forsake the comfort of home to huddle in small rooms. Their lives filled with relentless toil day and night. Their collective journey is a poignant testament to the aspirations that beat in the hearts of every Indian, a story of hope, sacrifice, and the pursuit of a better tomorrow.”

“12th Fail” has a window of opportunity until Diwali before Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif arrive with their much-anticipated film, “Tiger 3.” It seems that this inspiring tale of resilience and determination is winning hearts and making a mark at the box office.
